Want to start in Real Estate?
Here's the real deal.
Real Estate can be and rewarding career. But first, you’ll need to get your Certificate of Registration, which is a must. The Certificate of Registration is ASQA accredited and recognised by the NSW Fair Trading – and it gives you everything you need to kick off your career.
If you wish to sell or lease property in NSW (and that includes giving advice or information on property) you will need to have passed the course. When that happens, you’ll get your Statements of Attainment, which you can then send to NSW Fair Trading, where they’ll then issue you with a Certificate of Registration. The overall process can take between 6-8 weeks.
There are several companies which offer the Certificate of Registration course and it may be completed online or in person at the relative institution. Here are a few accredited companies which may be worth investigating:
- REINSW (Real Estate Institute of New South Wales) – www.reinsw.com.au or phone (02) 9264 2343
- RETS (Real Estate Training Solutions) – www.rets.com.au or phone 1300 850 980
- Think Real Estate – http://www.thinkrealestate.net.au/getting-started.aspx or phone 1300 660 402
- Real Estate Training – http://nsw.realestatetraining.com.au/course/category.php?id=1 or phone (02) 9987 2322
OK, I’m certified, what now?
Give us a call of course! We’d love to support your search for the perfect role. Although you may not have real estate experience, your drive, motivation and people skills – along with your Certificate – will certainly make you look attractive to potential employers.
Down the track, you can take your career to the next level with a formal Real Estate Licence. This qualification means you can manage your own agency or team of staff, meaning greater responsibility not only for yourself but also in the marketing, management and sale of property.
